Art and Historical-Architectural Museum-Reserve “Kolomenskoe”
Kolomenskoe features medieval churches dating back to the 16-th and
17-th centuries (1500s and 1600s), one is devoted for the birth of Ivan
the Terrible, stone chambers with clock tower, some wooden huts (1700s) –
among them the house of Peter the Great – a brilliant example of Northern
Russian architecture (moved on from Archangelsk), gardens planted in the middle of the
17-th century, oaks whose age is about 400 years and other fascinating sights.
Majestic royal estate, panoramic views of the river and banks, outlines of old monasteries,
pre-historical mysterious stones at the foot of the hill are also in sight.
